Tendai is the co-founder and CEO of Ruka. Ruka (www.rukahair.com) is a consumer innovation company on a mission to address the full $20bn hair opportunity, by developing a patent-pending sustainable, biomimetic alternative to human hair. Since launch in 2021 they have raised over £4M, built a cult-following in the UK, working with consumers and hair professionals to create an award-winning ecosystem of hairstyling solutions, earning themselves the title of the “Apple of Haircare”. Prior to Ruka, Tendai graduated in Business, Maths and Stats (BSc) from the London School of Economics + Political Science. She worked at Bain & Co as a Strategy Consultant and Barclays, HSBC in investment banking.
